What we do

As Canada's most experienced and longest running creator of accessible materials, we are worldwide industry experts in the most cutting-edge and popular accessible literacy formats.

Below, you'll find an overview of the formats we work with most. Have a question about these formats or how we produce them? Don't hesitate to get in touch.

Audio publishing

Our audio materials are recorded in our state-of-the-art in-house recording studios using either live narrators or synthetic voices. These recordings can be created in both English and French, and can be delivered to you in either digital or physical format. They also feature image descriptions, as well as accessible navigation formatting, meaning that the user is able to easily navigate within the text, such as between chapters, footnotes, headings, etc.

Audio formats we create:

  • ePub audio overlay
  • DAISY (Digital Accessible Information SYstem) 2.02
  • Commercial audio books

Electronic publishing

If you don't need printed or audio files, we also produce accessible electronic publishing files that can be read by a person who's blind on their smartphone, computer, or tablet using screen reading software, or converted into braille with the user's braille display machine.

These electronic publishing files can be created in both English and French. They also feature image descriptions, as well as accessible navigation formatting, meaning that the user is able to easily navigate within the text, such as between chapters, footnotes, headings, etc.

Electronic formats we create:

  • DAISY (Digital Accessible Information SYstem) 2.02 audio
  • DAISY (Digital Accessible Information SYstem) 2.02 text
  • ePub 3.0
  • ePub 3.x with audio overlay

Braille

We create English and French braille versions of books, magazines, reports, or any other text document you may have, of any length. We can also convert music sheets into braille, and we offer "printbraille" materials, which are print materials that are overlaid with transparent braille sheets so that sighted and blind readers can share the same materials.

Braille formats we create:

  • Contracted braille
  • Uncontracted braille
